Braces Versus Invisalign

Orthodontic treatments have now become more effective while being less time-consuming. Over time, procedures to improve dental aesthetics have evolved from traditional dental braces to Invisalign (clear aligners).

Dental Braces consist of brackets attached to the teeth that have a wire run through them. They are used to treat serious orthodontic cases like alignment issues, protrusions, crowding, crookedness and irregular spacing.

Invisalign is a set of digitally generated trays that perfectly fit one’s teeth. They are clear and do not hinder smile aesthetics. These can be used to treat conditions like cross bite, widely spaced teeth, overbite and simple irregularities.

Dental Braces need to be worn 24/7 a day, with a checkup for realignment required every 3-10 weeks. You can brush your teeth normally for the maintenance of the braces. Special attention must be paid to the wires. Invisalign must ideally be worn for 20 hours a day. They need to be removed when one wants to brush, eat or drink. Clear aligners are super easy to maintain. The trays can be washed with lukewarm water, coupled with mouthwash. While Invisalign allows you to discreetly align your teeth, traditional braces are fixed and maintenance becomes easy. You also reduce the risk of accidentally losing them – making them a great choice for children. They both are great solutions to aligning your teeth.
